Former Racer Carlson Hill Passes
(January 1, 1944 – April 30, 2014)
Carlson Everett Hill, 70, of Laurel, passed away Wednesday, April 30. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2 at Salem Heights Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was born to the late Everett and Vallie Hill, January 1, 1944, in Laurel, MS. Carlson married Patsy Hill in 1962 and together they raised two children. Carlson was a very hard worker and owned his own business for over 40 years. He was an active member of Salem Heights Baptist Church, Laurel Shrine Club, and Masonic Lodge of Laurel. Carlson’s life-long passion was racing and restoring classic cars.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Hill, and his parents Everett and Vallie Hill.
Carlson is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Lance and Bryna Walker; two grandchildren, Gavin and Ava Walker; brother, J Benson Hill; two sisters, Gloria Ellzey and Emmy Joy Powell; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tony Farris, Kimble Shows, Stogey Dykes, Henry Walters, Bo McCraney, and James Kittrell.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm, Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Salem Heights Baptist church in Laurel.
