LETS DO THE DOUBLE!!
The 2013 Season Opens for yet another Division at MIS on Saturday, April 20th, with the Midwest Cooling Towers Pro Late Models taking their turn with not one, but two feature races on the same night. With renewed emphasis on the local drivers for 2013, last year’s 100 lap format has been transformed into two, short distance sprint races, insuring flat out racing on virtually every lap. With a possible $1500 to win, the format will be as follows.
The MCTPLM cars will time trial for starting position in race #1, which will take the green flag at 7pm. It will be a straight up start, insuring the fastest qualifier will be on the pole. The distance will be 20 laps and the Winner will receive $600. All cars finishing on the lead lap in race #1, will then be inverted completely for race #2, which will be the final event of the night. Any cars laps down or failing to finish in race #1, will take up the rear in race #2, which will be 30 laps, and pay $900 to the Winner.
“ The shakeup in this year’s Pro Late Model format is quite interesting, to say the least” stated defending MCTPLM Champion Josh Bragg. “ Our cars have been really fast as of late, so certainly I like the idea of starting up front in the first race. But at the same time, I know what the fans like and that is a lot of passing. The second race is guaranteed to offer that. Truthfully, I think this formula offers something for everyone.” Both races will pay full points.
Also on the program for April 20th, will be the Praytor Realty Super Stocks, the Bob’s Speed Shop Sportsmen, and the Island Motors II Bombers. Admission will be $10 for Adults, $8 for Seniors, Military, 1st Responders and Students age 12 thru 17. Kids 6 thru 11 get in for 5 bucks, and kids 5 & under get in FREE. Remember, Green Flag Flies at 7pm!!
