SLM Results Remain

UNOFFICIAL

The results of the June 26 super late model 100 lap race over Mobile International Speedway remain unofficial as of Tuesday morning.

Technical inspection officials continue to review and issue that involves the cylinder heads from the motor of the winning automobile of Augie Grill of Hayden, AL.

A decision may not be reached until sometime Wednesday according to Mobile International Speedway officials.

There is also pending disciplinary action involving participants at Mobile International Speedway this past weekend.

Those involved will be notified by letters that were mailed Monday.

M-I-S supervising officials have requested that names of those involved by held until each person has received notice via the letters detailing the misconduct and the penalties imposed.

Penalties will include a one race suspension, a one-hundred dollar fine and probation for the remainder of the race season at MIS.

In racing results, Donnie Hamrac bettered the field of top notch open wheel modified to claim his third checkered flag in a feature race over the MIS course.  The win gives the Semmes, AL based driver a clean sweep of the feature races contested this season.

James Patrick of Mobile was runner-up as Nathan Ingersoll of Robertsdale, Brandon Howell of Mobile and Bobby Ingersoll of Summerdale completed the top five.

In qualifying, Bubba Pollard of Senoia, GA established a new track record at 18.118 seconds.

Irvington’s B. J. Leytham is credited with the win in the sportsmen division after the two top finishers of Chopper Stagner of Chunchula, AL and Jonatham Langham of Irvington, AL were disqualified.   The duo failed a post race technical inspection of their race cars.

Mobile’s Lee Reynolds, Christopher Brownlee of Theodore, Brannon Fowler of Mobile and Michael Moody of Theodore make up the top five finishers in the latest sportsmen feature race.

Earlier in the evening, Reynolds and Fowler earned victories in preliminary heat races.

For the bomber division Mobile’s Johnathan Day earned his forth feature race win of the season crossing the finish line in front of Jayme Corry of Theodore and Derek Long of Mobile.

Grand Bay’s Mark Emerson and Mobile’s Derrick Havard completed the top five for the bomber 15 lap feature.

The race car of Shane Scott failed post race inspection and was disqualified for the evening.

Preliminary events were won by Brandon Tipton of Mobile and Jay Jay Day of Theodore, AL.

An open practice is set for Thursday July 15 from 5 to 9 pm.  Mobile International Speedway is available for private practice sessions on a hourly basis.  Call the MIS for hourly rates and scheduling.

The next race program is July 17 and will feature the Midwest Cooling Tower Services, Inc. Pro Late Models in a 35 lap feature event.
