Jul 31, 2010 - TONIGHT - KIDS NIGHT & PRO LATE MODELS

KIDS NIGHT

 

          Tonight at Mobile International Speedway will be “Kids Night” with all children eleven years of age and under admitted to the grand stands free.

          In addition the youngsters will have an opportunity to ride in a race car or the MIS pace car. 

 

          On the race track the competition promises to be fierce starting with the Midwest Cooling Tower Services, Inc. Pro Late Models.

          D. J. Vanderley, who has won the last five pro late model features races on the Mobile facility, started his weekend with a Friday (last night) night win in Pensacola.

          The 18-year old took the lead for good on lap 21 after battling a field that included Ronnie Smith, Clay Alexander, Bubba Pollard, Thomas Praytor and David Jones.

          In Mobile add Josh Bragg, Donald Crocker and Elliott Massey to the lineup of pro late models tonight with regulars Praytor and Jones in the mix.

         

          The racing program also includes the Alabama Pipe and Supply Open Wheel Modified with Donnie Hamrac leading the entry list.   Nathan Ingersoll, James Patrick, and Gerald Wilkerson are sure to be there as well.

 

          The Bob’s Speed Shop sponsored Sportsmen will run qualifying laps tonight, along with the pro late models.  The sportsmen will also race a 25 lap feature.

          Jonathan Langham of Irvington is leading the entry list that includes B. J. Leytham, Chopper Stagner, and Randy Thompson.  All three have captured a feature race checkered flag this season and will be trying for another this evening.

 

          The Island Motors II Bombers will contest preliminary heat races as will the open wheel modified.

          Johnathan Day, who has won five feature races this season heads the entry list that also includes Jay Jay Day who lays claim to three feature race wins this year.

          Look for Jayme Cory, Brandon Tipton and Donnie Phillips to take the green flag in preliminary and the feature race this evening.

 

          The pit gate opens at 3 pm.  Pit Admission is $25.00 each person and minor releases are required.

 

          The grand stand gate opens at 5 pm.  Adult admission to the grand stand is $10.00, seniors and enlisted military are admitted for $9.00.   Students 12 to 17 years are admitted to the grand stand for $7.00.   Children eleven years of age and under are admitted to the grand stands free - tonight!

 

          Race time is 8 pm
