SEASON CONCLUDES WITH CHAMPIONSHIP RACES AND A $5.00 ADMISSION
This is it (weather permitting again) for the 2013 season. Schedule conflicts don’t allow the Super Late Models to make up their tropical storm rain out, but the 5 dollar admission will prove to be a great entertainment bargain on Saturday Oct 12th. Here is an overview of what to look for.
Alabama Pipe and Supply Modifieds
Donald Crocker has a 13 point lead over Brandon Howell entering the final week of the season and will also decide their championship fates on Saturday night Oct 12th. Should Crocker be successful, it will be his second consecutive track championship at Mobile International Speedway.
Bob’s Speed Shot Sportsman
While the championship in the Sportsman division is virtually decided, the game in which a driver will look to beat to Steve Buttrick to Victory Lane one last time is still very much in play. Buttrick has dominated the season at both Pensacola and Mobile and just recently secured the championship at the Florida half-mile.
Buttrick leads Bob Bryant in the standings by 107 points but Bryant, Mark Barnhill and a host of others will be looking to take their parting shots into the long off-season.
Island Motor II Bombers
Jayme Corry has dominated the Bomber division much like Buttrick has in the Sportsman. The defending Bomber division championship runner-up has closed up the championship this season, with a 239 point lead over Collin Kraft.
But the Bombers are always a race of attrition and even Corry has suffered from crashes and mechanical failures this season so the field is wide open with a possible winner’s list that could include Corry, Kraft, BJ Leytham, Wesley Barnhill and more.
This will be the last race of 2013…and the admission is $5.00.
